Mandate:
Art Works Art Gallery supports a wide range of contemporary and historically based community exhibitions, initiatives, and projects featuring students, faculty, and practicing artists. We host both solo and group shows, commercial and non-commercial exhibitions and accept proposals on an ongoing basis. All shows are juried and curated.

Information you need to know:
Our Gallery is on the first floor of art Works art School. This enables our administration staff to manage the day-to-day activities of the gallery. An administrator is available to help with promotion of exhibitions. Proposals for submission include a $40 non-refundable submission fee

You are responsible for organizing advertising, invitations, show opening including any food or drink. We will list your show on our web site, newsletter and ads and install the show.

Show space:
Main Gallery Space is an 8’ x 20’ room with other walls 6’ , 6’, 8’, 11’
Ceiling height – 8’5”
Lighting- swivel / directional spot lighting from the ceiling

Total running wall –45’8” in gallery, 31’ hallway outside of gallery

Dimensions

  • East wall- 3’4”, French doors 3’4”

  • South Wall 22” window, 4’6”, 2’4”, window, 4’10”

  • West Wall closet , 7’10”

  • North Wall 10’5” French door, 20”, 5’9”

Outside of gallery we have 2 walls at 6’, 8’,11’ with fluorescent lighting.
Also available is a large window on main floor where work can be hung 10’ x 6’ high that is east facing.

Solo Show Submission Guidelines:

  • Submission fee $40.00

  • Rental fee $600.00

  • Exhibition proposal / curatorial statement (if applicable)

  • Artist statement

  • Resume

  • Portfolio with 10-15 images (Acceptable formats: PowerPoint, Photograph, CD, Google Drive Link)

  • Corresponding list containing: title of work, year, size, & medium

  • Upon contract approval and show setup, images should be clearly labeled with artist’s name and the title of work.

  • SASE for return of slides, CDs, prints or send to info@artworksartschool.com

Note:
Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered. When evaluating exhibition submissions, consideration is given to: the quality of the work, level of professionalism, and the demonstrated continuity and cohesion of work relative to your proposal content.

Group Show Submission Guidelines:

  • Submission fee $40.00

  • Art Works Art Gallery receives 40% of art sold, payable at time of sale

  • Show proposal

  • Artist statement

  • Artist Resume

  • Portfolio with 1-5 images per artist (Acceptable formats: PowerPoint, Photograph, CD, Google Drive Link)

  • Corresponding list containing: title of work, year, size, & medium

  • Upon contract approval and show setup, images should be clearly labeled with artist’s name and the title of work.

  • SASE for return of slides, CDs, prints or send to info@artworksartschool.com
